Dumbbell2™, World’s First Two-Handed Dumbbell, Now Available in More Sizes and Colors
Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) May 29, 2014 -- RConcepts Inc., the inventor of the world’s first two-handed dumbbell, announced today the availability of additional weights and colors for the company’s Dumbbell2 (DB2), the next-generation dumbbell. More versatile and effective than the traditional dumbbell, DB2’s innovative design provides increased workout efficiency in an updated and streamlined shape. Dumbbell2.com is promoting the new sizes and colors of DB2 and their trademarked Rapid Repetition Technology (RRT) at the Never Quit Health and Fitness Expo held this weekend (May 30-31) in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
DB2 is ideal for people of all ages and ability who want to achieve a higher level of fitness more quickly and efficiently using functional movements to strengthen and tone muscles. The innovative shape of DB2 allows the body to exercise using natural movements, resulting in a person achieving positive results faster.
The DB2’s patented, two-handed design allows people to use smaller weights, yet perform an intense, full body strength and aerobic training session with increased control and balance. The smaller weights combined with the two-handed grip facilitates Rapid Repetition Technology (RRT), a type of exercise that utilizes high speed repetition to more effectively overcome inertia and gravity to achieve unparalleled strength training and muscular endurance when doing various workouts. Positive results can be seen in as little as 5 minutes per day, although most people prefer to use DB2 for 15-20 minutes, 3 to 5 times per week.
Dr. Diva Nagula, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Dumbbell2.com, is also a double board certified physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Nagula became involved with DB2 after seeing the product in action and using it himself. As a trained physician specializing in the function of the human body, he saw immediately how the innovative design of DB2 could improve a workout.
“New discoveries in health and science are forcing us to rethink what we’ve always accepted in terms of health and fitness,” explained Nagula. “DB2 is an example of how we’ve taken new knowledge and redesigned an old product to better meet the fitness needs of the human body. We believe people of all ages and fitness levels can benefit from DB2. It truly is the next-generation dumbbell.”
How DB2 works
The two-handed design enables people to incorporate the weight into numerous, functional exercises using rapid body movements, which increases the cardio benefits of the exercises. It also forces the muscles on both sides of the body to be used equally—reducing muscle imbalances, thus lessening injuries. Additionally, the center weight design requires more core utilization, improving core strength and reducing incidences of back pain.
Individuals are also using the DB2 with one arm because the unbalanced weight (when gripped with a single hand) isolates specific muscles or parts of muscles, allowing for more effective muscle targeting. Hand positions can also be modified to achieve a variety of leverage points.
Proof DB2 works
Electromyography (EMG) testing showed approximately 35-50% increased muscle recruitment with 50% less weight using the DB2 compared to a traditional dumbbell. EMG is a technique used for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles.
“I’ve been using the DB2 to train my clients in Jacksonville since January, and we are seeing excellent results,” said Blake Wells, DB2 instructor and master personal trainer based in Jacksonville, Florida. “The DB2 allows people to get both a cardiovascular and strength training workout in a short period of time. The center weight design lets you use both hands and transition easily from one exercise to the next—while maintaining a high intensity workout.”
DB2 workouts designed by Wells can be found on the company’s website at http://www.dumbbell2.com/interval-training-workouts/. DB2 and RRT will be demonstrated at the DB2 booth at the Never Quit 2014 Expo in Jacksonville Beach, May 30-31. DB2s and other prizes will be awarded to participants who try out DB2 and RRT.
