The Index is a prime example of providing both societal and business value. The Thoth Awards cap an incredibly successful year of recognitions for our leading-edge thought leadership programs.

The DuPont-commissioned Global Food Security Index program was the most honored campaign at the 45th annual Thoth Awards - the U.S. capital’s most prestigious Public Relations awards event. The Food Security Index campaign was a finalist in four categories and swept them all – earning Thoth awards for Global Communications; Reputation/Brand Management; Business and Public Service; and Events and Observances.
“By introducing this much-needed and innovative program, we demonstrated our commitment to collaborate with others around the world in addressing global food security issues,” said Anthony Farina, DuPont’s head of public affairs and director of corporate communications. “The Index is a prime example of providing both societal and business value. The Thoth Awards cap an incredibly successful year of recognitions for our leading-edge thought leadership programs.”
In June, the Food Security Index earned DuPont three Silver Anvils from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) -- including the communications industry's highest honor, PRSA’s "Best of Silver Anvil” – the first-ever for DuPont. The Index also won a SABRE award from the Holmes Report in the “Public Education” category in May and received first runner-up in the “Global Communications” category at the PRWeek Awards from PRWeek magazine in March.
In order to play a greater role in identifying sustainable solutions to feeding a world population that will grow from 7 billion to 9 billion people by 2050, DuPont commissioned the Economist Intelligence Unit to develop an unprecedented tool that would establish a common language around the issue of food security. The result was the creation of the Global Food Security Index, a scoring model that assesses strengths and vulnerabilities around food security in 105 nations.
Culminating in the multiple-country launch of the Index, the campaign initiated the dialogue among thought leaders and policymakers to build awareness and create solutions around feeding a growing, global population. Now recognized as a global leader in food security, DuPont has received multiple requests from global organizations for dedicated briefings, invitations to speak at global summits and collaborations with many new partners to date.
