Technology Meets Art: DuPont™ Surlyn® Flame Cap Tops Off Elegant Murano Glass in New Mavive S.p.A. Collection

Once again, Surlyn® demonstrates its versatility, offering infinite possibilities that match and exceed the designers’ needs.

At the 29th edition of LUXE PACK Monaco, DuPont Cosmetic Solutions will present a rich collection of applications in “Maison Surlyn®”, its well-known boutique-stand highlighting the creative potential of DuPont™ Surlyn®.

Among this year’s showcase will be "The Merchant of Venice" collection created by Mavive S.p.A., which plunges into the very heart of Venetian art, inseparable from the history of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. This collection focuses on the ancestral role of Venice in the world of perfumery. The Murano glass vases together with the exotic and precious fragrances reflect the Italian city’s glamour and provide sensorial delight to perfume customers.

The collection features 9 fragrances, with 3 new ones coming October 2016, that can be combined with 6 different vases which were designed with inspiration from the paintings of Paolo Veronese, the Doge Palace, or even the colours of the Carnival. Each signed and limited edition vase is unique thanks to the characteristics of Murano glass and the complexity of its manufacturing process. A 30ml vial inside the Murano vase contains the fragrance, maintained stable by a ring made with DuPont™ Surlyn®.

Every vase is topped with a flame-shaped cap made of DuPont™ Surlyn® resin. The cap was originally intended to be made of glass but this proved to be impossible to create due to the size and the delicate shape of the piece. The design of the cap was entrusted to G. CANDIANI who specializes in the creation and design of cosmetics packaging. For Carlo Candiani, who pays very special attention to the materials he selects, Surlyn® emerged as the natural choice for its crystal-clear transparency and its potential to design more complex shapes. Gold glitter adds a shimmering effect to the cap.
