E-M Air Systems Reveals How You Can Still Save Money Despite 40% Natural Gas Increase in Ontario

It’s no secret now that the Ontario Energy Board has given approval for distributors of natural gas to increase their costs to consumers. Enbridge, an energy transportation company, has taken the most liberty with this approval, raising their rates by 40% beginning this spring. However, the Energy Board has stated that this increase is only temporary, and that they will revisit the approval on a quarterly basis.

Maintenance will have to be combined with proper insulation, air sealing, and suggested thermostat settings that vary throughout the day; only through using this comprehensive approach will homeowners notice a difference in their utility bills.”
For maintenance, he suggests that furnace filters be cleaned once a month and that warm-air registers, baseboard heaters, and radiators are not blocked by any furniture or carpeting. In addition, drapes on south-facing windows should be kept open during the day through the winter months to allow in warming sunlight, with those same drapes being kept closed during the summer. Also, remember to shut off exhaust fans after cooking or bathing.
