Medrio, a Leading EDC Provider for Clinical Research, Announces Its Latest Version, 8.1 with iPad Support, is Available Without Charge for Academic Researchers
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- The user experience of technical software is often disappointing, frequently reflecting more how it’s made than how it’s used. Medrio 8.1 presents a new user interface that is workflow-driven and faster for users. “By observing how both new and experienced researchers do their work, it became clear that there were separate data entry and monitoring workflows which are rarely done at the same time,” said Jeff Johnson, Medrio’s Director of Customer Experience.
Data Entry users need to enroll patients, see what data is scheduled to be entered at the present moment, and respond to queries. Data Monitors, on the other hand, need to see what data needs cleaning, close queries and monitor forms. Each of these workflows can be streamlined. The new 8.1 Medrio user interface is faster, requires fewer clicks to complete common tasks, and is more aesthetically pleasing.
“Additionally, Medrio 8.1 introduces fully validated and 21 CFR part 11 compliant data entry via iPad,” said Michael Farr, Medrio's Manager of Medrio's Scholars. “Although Medrio is not available without charge for commercial studies requiring 21 CFR part 11 compliance, we’ve found that many of our University customers do both academic and commercially sponsored studies and like being able to use one EDC for both. Getting a study database is as simple as visiting scholars.medrio.com and entering an email address."
"Our research program has been using Medrio for less than a year, but has come to rely on the system for a legion of functionality we simply can't get in REDCap. From the forms which can easily be created or copied from our other studies to monitoring, reporting and approval processes; all accessible from any computer using a standard web browser, Medrio is a very comprehensive solution. Additionally, given their support and responsiveness it's astounding they are free," said Troy Hamilton, Clinical Research Manager Division of Nephrology at the University of Calgary.
