“Eastman has compelling innovation stories to tell about how our materials can enhance the quality of life all around the world.”
PITTSBURGH (PRWEB) April 24, 2019
This season, Tomorrow’s World Today will visit Eastman to learn about advances they’re making in the automotive industry. If you’ve noticed that cars just don’t rust like they used to and that tires last longer, you definitely have Eastman to thank.
Eastman will appear throughout season two, speaking to field reporter Tamara Krinsky about paint protection and vulcanization. Tetrashield protective resin systems are used to help automotive paints last longer and are also better for the environment. Later in the season, viewers will learn about vulcanization, a method of treating rubber with sulfur at great heat to improve the elasticity and strength of rubber, positively impacting the tire making process. Krinsky will visit the Eastman plant in Akron, Ohio and learn about the chemistry of vulcanization as well as what we can expect in the future of tire production.
“We’re excited to appear in Tomorrow’s World Today,” said Steve Crawford, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Eastman. “Eastman has compelling innovation stories to tell about how our materials can enhance the quality of life all around the world. We encourage viewers to tune in to watch the Eastman team highlight some of our innovations that are delivering performance and sustainability gains for the automotive industry.”
But Eastman’s innovations aren’t just for the automotive industry. This season, viewers will also have a chance to learn about copolymers, specifically Tritan copolyester and how it helps keep products safer and lasting longer.
Tomorrow’s World Today, nominated for a 2019 Daytime Emmy, returns to Science Channel for season two beginning Saturday, May 4 at 8am. Viewers can tune in every Saturday and Sunday morning for five weeks to watch back-to-back new episodes.
