eCube Systems, the leading provider of modern development tools and best practices for Continuous Integration on OpenVMS, announced today that it will align its offerings with those of the VMS Software Inc.(VS), a newly announced technology firm committed to delivering new versions of VMS on modern chipsets.

Today VMS Software, Inc. announced that Hewlett Packard (HP) has named it as the sole developer of future versions of the OpenVMS operating system and its layered product components. Under the agreement, VS will license OpenVMS operating system source code from HP to expand the OpenVMS product roadmap, by adding new hardware platform releases, beginning with a new version of OpenVMS for HP Integrity i4 servers based on Poulson, Intel® Itanium® Processor 9500 Series (rx2800i4, BL8xxi4).

“eCube Systems and its clients are pleased that the future of the OpenVMS operating system has been resolved in such a progressive and dynamic fashion,” says Peter John Marquez, EVP at eCube Systems. “Organizations that use OpenVMS to run strategic applications now have long-term options they can build business plans around.
