Istation Named SIIA Education CODiE Award Finalist for Best Educational App for a Mobile Device!
Washington, DC and Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) April 06, 2015 -- Istation, a leader in the educational technology industry, announced today that three of its products have been named finalists for the 2015 SIIA Education CODiE Award for Best Educational App for a Mobile Device.
Istation's computer-adaptive reading assessments (known as ISIP™) and Istation’s reading instruction received nominations.
Free for Istation subscribers, the mobile app is available for download to iPads and Chromebooks. The Istation iPad app has been downloaded 300,000 times since its August 2014 release, including 80,000 downloads in September 2014 alone. Since its January 2015 release, the Istation Chromebook app has been downloaded 18,000 times.
The apps provide access to Istation’s computer-adaptive assessments and instruction, which dynamically adjust to a student’s individual skill level. Assessments measure a student’s ability and then seamlessly place the student on an individualized learning path within 400 hours of research-based, targeted instruction. In Texas, research proves that if students obtain a certain score on Istation’s assessments, teachers can predict with 95 percent confidence that those students will pass a state standardized test.
Istation’s mobile apps are particularly beneficial for prekindergarten students who don’t yet have the fine motor skills to operate a mouse or keyboard.
“I love to see tweets and emails from teachers sharing pictures of students using Istation on their mobile devices, and we see positive comments posted every day,” said Istation CEO Richard H. Collins. “Schools are now educating digital natives: students who have been using technology since they were born. Keeping these students engaged while ensuring they are learning is a challenge, but we are helping schools succeed. Teachers and families know they can trust us. Istation is not only fun; it works.”
