CyberForward Academy, a partner-enabled professional development program that first identifies and then rapidly develops effective job-ready cyber security professionals, has recently appointed Lynn Stewart as its Director of CyberForward Services.
As a seasoned leader in workforce program development, Stewart’s experience in directing professional development programs will help shape and support CyberForward Academy’s innovative approach and continued growth throughout 2021 and beyond.
"Our lofty goal is to reinvent talent development at scale and fix the associated broken talent economy that is leaving too many learners behind while not giving organizations the skills they desperately need,” said Mike Gentile, Founder of CyberForward Academy.
“We are so excited with this addition because we know our best chance at these goals is by continuing to bring on amazing game changers like Lynn,” said Gentile. “Her wealth of knowledge and experience in developing such programs is just what is needed at this key time in our programs journey.”
Prior to joining the CyberForward Academy team, Stewart was the Director of Economic and Workforce Development for Extension and International Programs at California State University, Fullerton.
"CyberForward Academy is taking a new approach to professional development,” said Stewart. “I’m glad to be working on the team that’s bringing new job opportunities in a growing industry to people who are interested in entering.”
CyberForward is a multi-phase professional development program that first identifies individuals with aptitudes to be successful in cybersecurity, develops their skills with focused role-based training and a comprehensive support system, and then gets them into working jobs on the path to a livable wage. The program enables success by working with participants to remove common roadblocks such as housing, access to transportation, technology, or other financial limitations so they can focus on their skill development and a successful career in cybersecurity. Once participants finish the foundational cyber security training and interning phases, the program then places them directly into real work engagements through hiring organizations on 3-to 6-month engagements.
