University of Arkansas Selects Vivantech’s Cloud-Based Ekualiti KC for its Next-Generation Research and Grants Management
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 13, 2015 -- Vivantech, a leader in consulting and development of enterprise grade, open-source and commercial software for higher education and research institutions, has announced that the University of Arkansas (UARK) is the latest institution to select the cloud-based Ekualiti KC electronic research administration (eRA) solution to manage its research and grant administration.
UARK is a public, co-educational, land-grant, space-grant Research University. With over $125 million in research volume, UARK is classified among research universities with the highest level of research, according to the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. The University’s core research strengths include health; nanotechnology; energy and environment; art, architecture and humanities; food safety; and supply chain, retail and transportation.
UARK will move from in-house Kuali Coeus to cloud-based Ekualiti KC. UARK has become a member of Vivantech’s Ekualiti Leaders program where they will contribute to the community and the continuous cycle of enhancements to Ekualiti KC that make it the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for research institutions of any size.
“The University of Arkansas is very pleased to be working with Vivantech to move our electronic research administration, KC-based RazorGrant, to the next level so that we can provide better service to our faculty researchers,” said James Rankin, Vice Provost for Research and Economic Development, University of Arkansas.
Vivantech created Ekualiti KC in response to the need for a comprehensive eRA solution that is affordable, quick to deploy, and can be configured to suit the business process needs of institutions of varying sizes. Ekualiti KC is based on Kuali software and is offered in the public cloud. A private cloud option through Red Hat’s OpenShift™ technology is also available. Ekualiti KC has many benefits such as stability, a modern user interface, a plug-in framework for customizations, a mobile companion app, and a user-driven reports and dashboards module to name a few.
“Our goal is to exceed UARK’s expectations by consolidating the University’s research and grants administration processes and by providing significant benefits unmatched by the existing on-premise software,” said Randy Ozden, CEO of Vivantech. “UARK’s feedback will be considerably valuable to the continual innovation of Ekualiti KC.”
