Award-winning poet and author Elizabeth Clayton has released her latest collection of poems titled “Quiet Sheba: Volume II” (published by Trafford Publishing). In her new book, Clayton gives voice to the darkness and despair that comes in times of vulnerability and loss but, above all, she celebrates the power of hope.
“Quiet Sheba: Volume II” has been described by the author as the “darkest of the trilogy” and was written during a time of great personal loss and crisis. The book brings together a poignant collection of ruminations dressed in the wealth of yesterday, the beauty of the present, but with the unhappy composite of "now." Rendered in a style that is both eloquent and powerful, “Quiet Sheba: Volume II” lays bare the nuances of grief and loss, all while celebrating the author’s unique poetic voice.
A summary of the book reads:
“Quiet Sheba, II is an exercise in the thoughtful reflexion regarding the purpose of being/existence, the particulars thereto not needing being discussed again. Beauty, of course, the positive presence alongside the Grand Natural, contributions, and positive everyday circumstances ought surly balance the scales; however, the voice of life, breath, itself, awareness, and with its awareness tip the scales significantly. Therefore Book II of Quiet Sheba is the portion of the three volumes into which is written dark and struggle. Unfortunate arrangements occur in our lives, but all who live are not alike, either in sensibilities or circumstance.”
