New Detective Novel Introduces Readers to Formidable Private Eye
London (PRWEB) August 27, 2013 -- The loner as hero is a common theme in Elizabeth Greenwood’s fiction. “All of my fiction is based on the Mary Poppins’ song ‘A Spoonful of Sugar Helps the Medicine Go Down,’” says Greenwood. Her new novel “Stewart Sinclair, Private Eye” (published by AuthorHouse) continues this tradition. In this detective crime story, readers meet a private eye on a quest for truth.
Stating that “her main purpose is to entertain the reader while delivering an emblematic message about the dysfunctional society in which her characters move,” Greenwood weaves a story that tackles a multitude of societal ills including unchecked capitalism, sexual deviancy and murder.
An excerpt from “Stewart Sinclair, Private Eye:”
"Mrs. Allenby, at the risk of exceeding my professional duties as a detective, I feel I must enlighten you about the invidious situation in which you find yourself"
"Invidious situation? What invidious situation?"
"Mrs. Allenby, has it occurred to you that on the night of the attempted rape, you might have behaved in a different way, a way more fitting with the religious convictions of a person such yourself. Those miners are Catholics. You might have made the Sign of the Cross, gone down on your knees and begged for mercy instead of which you seized your prosthetic leg and battered an ignorant young man nearly to death. That young man is still in a critical condition. Should he die, Mrs. Allenby, you will be charged with murder."
Greenwood anticipates that readers will find much of her story extremely relevant. “It exposes evil with a spoonful of sugar,” Greenwood states. “It’s exciting, frank, full of suspense and bold.”
This book will be included in the 2013 Frankfurt Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany on Oct. 9 - 13, 2013.
