eMedEvents Launches Online Medical Conference, Speaker and CME Platform in India
Hyderabad, India (PRWEB) March 03, 2015 -- eMedEvents, a searchable online database of medical conference, speaker and continuing medical education (CME) credit information, has officially been released in India. The comprehensive database for doctors was initially launched in the United States (December 2014), where it became the first of its kind in the field of healthcare conference technology platforms available for use. The second launch of this Denver, Colorado-based start-up company was successful as well, announced by the eMedEvents Founder and CEO, Priya Korrapati and graced by Dr. Jaya Prakash Narayana, IAS, Padmasree Dr.Manjula Anagani, Dr. Sunil Puboni, and Dr. Padma Veerapaneni.
While CME requirements have been in effect in the United States for decades, only recently has India adopted the practice of awarding credit hours for continuing medical education. This change in policy, made by the Medical Council of India in 2013, requires practicing physicians to complete a minimum of 150 credit hours in order to renew their medical registrations.
Dr. Chakravarthy, a Urologist in Hyderabad, has embraced eMedEvents as his go-to method for finding medical conferences that will count toward the CME credit hours he must now fulfill. He likes that the site caters to his need for efficiency, allowing him to balance his continuing medical education with a full work load and family schedule.
Deemed the “Travelocity” of the medical space upon its initial launch, eMedEvents seeks to match busy healthcare providers with conferences they can attend in order to earn CME credits. The search-based website provides medical conference, speaker and aggregated CME credit information as well as registration capabilities all in one place, giving doctors a one-stop shop through which to find, register and book travel plans for worldwide medical conferences. Additionally, eMedEvents works as a marketing tool for healthcare speakers and conference organizers looking to promote their medical expertise and/or events throughout the year.
Other unique services offered by eMedEvents include:
• CME credit tracking
• Board review courses
• Information regarding medical societies and associations
Now serving physicians in two countries across two continents, eMedEvents currently includes 23,000 medical conferences, 3,500 conference organizers and 50,000 healthcare speakers that have registered via the platform. And with approximately 25,000 medical conferences held each year across the globe, bringing in $2 billion annually to the U.S. as well as a considerable amount of revenue to India, registration numbers are only expected to increase.
