Empire Precision Plastics announced today that it has acquired passive infrared lens fabrication equipment formerly owned by ORAFOL Display Optics, further expanding its ability to serve the optics community.

Empire has served the optics industry since 2012, executing the design, tooling and manufacture of support components for injection molded polymer optic applications worldwide, including LED illumination systems, imaging, scanning and detection applications. The company produces injection molded aspheric and free-form lenses and mirrors, as well as passive infrared and diffractive optics.

The company has in-house capability to provide custom designed diamond turned and injection molded prototypes, thin film and reflective coatings and integrated optical solutions for a wide range of military, medical, commercial and consumer markets. They specialize in problem solving, helping to get optical devices off of the drawing board and into the real world. Empire Precision is ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2012 certified.
