Our country needs more kids getting excited about careers in engineering and Engineer’s Week is focused on doing just that.

DesignPoint Solutions, a leading provider of complete solutions for product design, engineering, and manufacturing in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, is proud to participate in Engineers Week, February 21-27. Presented by The DiscoverE, Engineers Week encourages companies and individuals to celebrate engineering by hosting events that educate students about the profession.

“Engineers Week is for students to learn about how engineers make a difference in our world and to bring engineering to life for them,” stated John Cioffi, CEO of DesignPoint. “Our country needs more kids getting excited about careers in engineering and Engineer’s Week is focused on doing just that. Engineers Week is part of the larger STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) movement in our education system. We are proud to be part of Engineers Week for our second year.”

DesignPoint has developed this event for elementary and middle school students who are interested in learning more about engineering. Students are invited to join us on Friday, February 26th at 4:00PM for an interactive presentation on what it means to be an engineer. Parents and educators are also welcome. We will introduce participants to product design, featuring SOLIDWORKS and 3D printing. To make it fun, our theme is based on the classic movie, Back to the Future. Our DesignPoint engineers will be demonstrating how to design a hoverboard in 3D using SOLIDWORKS and will be 3D printing mini DeLoreans for all participants to take home!

“We are encouraging the media, school administrators, educators, and parents to help us get the word out in their communities,” continued John Cioffi, “You never know what will spark a student’s interest. We hope to play a role in helping students get excited about engineering.”
