these poems mark a person’s highs and lows while looking back at life as it is being broken down into episodes that make the whole.

The Chinese poet Li Po had deified the Moon and his drink through his poems. In the same way, author Enid Aames lives up to this notion of commemorating what exalts the human spirit through her poems collectively known as “A Fool’s Moon.”

This random poetry encloses the musings and hindsights about life that Aames deems would appeal as a novelty to poets and readers alike. Her poetry is a convergence of what crosses her mind, what arouses her emotions and takes them to boiling point, or what she has seen so far in her life. These are various events that have defined the existence of a human, whether superficial or profound, so long as it remains and continues to pile up to the treasure trove of memories worth keeping.

Spontaneous and random in tone, these poems mark a person’s highs and lows while looking back at life as it is being broken down into episodes that make the whole. Profound, idealistic and contemplative, this poetry is both the author and readers avenue of reflecting upon what they have done so far in life.

“People begin their lives as blank slates. From personal experience, I learned to be not as naïve as I used to be,” were the words author Enid Aames wanted to impart on the readers of this poetry book “A Fool’s Moon.”
