Throwing away an old air conditioning unit can be extremely harmful to the environment. That’s why E.D.S Air Conditioning recycles old units rather than tossing them in the trash.

Air conditioning units contain freon and other refrigerants that are regulated by the U.S. Federal Government under the Clean Air Act. If released into the atmosphere, these chemicals can damage the ozone layer and otherwise work as greenhouse gases.

The Green Team of E.D.S Air Conditioning is committed to protecting the environment. When E.D.S employees remove an old unit to replace it with a new energy-efficient air handler and or condensing unit, the recycling process begins. They ensure all old units are taken to a designated area to be properly disassembled. The refrigerants must be removed safely and professionally by the company’s certified and licensed technicians. All parts are then recycled and any harmful chemicals are disposed of properly in order to protect the atmosphere.
