EPIC5 Athletes Arrive on the Islands in Spite of Hurricane Lane
August 28 - September 1, 2018, EPIC5 is set to hold its tenth athletic endurance event since its inception eight years ago. Five athletes will attempt to complete five iron distance triathlons in just five days on five Hawaiian Islands in what's known as the EPIC5 Challenge.
HANALEI, Hawaii, Aug. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- This incredible triathlon adventure consists of 140.6 miles each day (2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run) covering a mind-boggling 703-mile USA Triathlon certified course in just five days.
At 6:00am on August 28th in Kauai, Hawaii, a night flight to Honolulu will have the athletes ready to start their second day on Oahu, again at 6am. On August 30th, Molokai will be the stage for the third leg, and Maui will host the fourth day on August 31st. The iconic event will conclude on the Big Island of Hawaii, where Kona, a mecca for triathletes around the world, will be that day's course venue.

The event was founded in 2010 when Jason Lester and Rich Roll set out to complete what many deemed the impossible. Since then, some of the world's most accomplished ultra- triathletes have participated in this annual event, testing the limits of mind, body and spirit as they embark on a voyage of self-discover.
