Episcopal Community Services (ECS) Releases its New Folio Edition, Focusing on Coaching, a Core Component of Mobility Mentoring
PHILADELPHIA (PRWEB) November 01, 2018 -- Episcopal Community Services (ECS) has released its latest folio edition, titled “Inward, Onward, & Upward,” and spotlighting the coaching ECS provides to help people build the skills they need to take control of their lives.
ECS’ research-based approach helps participants throughout the Philadelphia region set goals—small and attainable at first—while integrating rewards and skill-based learning so adults see improved success and economic stability over time.
The new folio edition highlights one participant, Sarah, who has the goal of earning her bachelor’s degree. A single mother, she knows that online courses better suit her lifestyle, but not having costly Internet access is a roadblock. Working with her ECS coach, Sarah is prioritizing barriers and setting small educational goals.
Together, they are exploring ways Sarah can budget better, have a trusted relative care for her daughter instead of paying for childcare, and get a library card to utilize free resources in the meantime.
“In partnership with coaches, big goals are tackled through smaller, more manageable goals and the roadmap to goal completion becomes clearer and more approachable,” says Stephanie Korber, Director of Opportunity Development for ECS. “Over time, individuals and families will move out of poverty and have the skills and assets to achieve upward economic mobility, thus becoming their own drivers of change.”
