Atchison County Register of Deeds Begins E-recording with Simplifile
ATCHISON COUNTY, Kan. (PRWEB) December 12, 2014 -- The register of deeds’ office in Atchison County, Kan., has implemented electronic recording (e-recording) through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, providing customers with a faster, easier way to record documents with the county.
“With today’s technology, it was time to provide a more convenient way to for customers to record their documents,” said Atchison County Register of Deeds Shelley Campbell. “E-recording will make recording documents a faster process for our office and the documents will be returned in a more timely manner to our customers. Also, any rejected documents can be sent back immediately to the customer for correction.”
Instead of having to mail documents or physically take them to the register of deeds’ office for recording, organizations such as title companies, banks, and attorneys now have the option to scan or upload their documents electronically through Simplifile’s secure, web-based service.
“E-recording helps reduce paper and postage expenses in addition to the time staff spends opening mail and processing checks,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “Overall, e-recording is a much more efficient, cost-effective option. For that reason, it’s wonderful to see the adoption rate of e-recording continue to grow throughout the state of Kansas and across the nation.”
Atchison County joins 34 other Kansas e-recording counties that have made Simplifile’s service available to their customers. Nationwide, more than 1,170 recording jurisdictions have also implemented e-recording with Simplifile.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
