Cheshire County, NH, Registry of Deeds Adopts E-Recording with Simplifile
Cheshire County, NH (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- The Registry of Deeds office in Cheshire County, N.H., has recently adopted e-recording of land records with Simplifile, enabling submitters including title companies, banks, attorneys and lien filers from around the county, state and country, to electronically scan, upload and submit documents to the Registry office online.
“E-Recording is quickly becoming the standard for recording public documents, and we are excited to join Hillsborough, Sullivan, Merrimack and Strafford counties to accept electronic filings and to bring this added convenience as an option to the Cheshire County Registry of Deeds,” said Cheshire County Register of Deeds Anna Tilton.
Prior to e-recording, customers were required to submit their original documents to the county by mail, courier service, or to travel to the county office during the work day to record their documents. Customers would then have to wait days for the documents to be recorded and mailed back; however, with Simplifile’s service, documents are electronically submitted, received, recorded and returned usually within minutes.
“This is a great benefit to our customers because of the convenience of being able to record documents from anywhere at any time,” said Tilton. “Since I took office, it has been my focus to bring useful and available technology to the office, which will not only make better use of staff time, but also make interacting with our office more convenient to the many businesses and individuals who access our services. Electronic recording is part of an ongoing effort to improve the user experience and to gain efficiencies. As we implement e-recording, our customers will see quicker response times and returns.”
In addition to the four other e-recording counties in New Hampshire, Cheshire County joins more than 950 counties throughout the nation that have made e-recording available to customers, improving and expediting the overall recording process for both local and national submitters.
“While our customers will always have a choice of coming into our office or mailing documents to us, now they have a third option – e-recording. No longer will our office hours be the controlling factor for when their paperwork can be filed,” Tilton said. “Additionally, as more choose e-recording, the staff will spend correspondingly less time returning the many paper documents by mail, and more time on customer service and activities which will improve access to our historical and on-line records."
