CHEYENNE COUNTY, Neb. (PRWEB) July 12, 2014
Land document submitters in Cheyenne County, Neb., can now send documents to the register of deeds’ office online using Simplifile’s electronic recording (e-recording) service, saving time and money.
“Cheyenne County is our 61st Nebraska county to implement e-recording, and we are proud to see this technology continue expanding not only throughout the state but also across the nation,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile.
E-recording is the process of submitting documents for recording via the Internet and having them reviewed, stamped, recorded, and returned back to the submitter electronically.
By e-recording, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys, lien filers and others are able to eliminate mailing, postage, and check-writing expenses, and have documents recorded in minutes instead of waiting several days or weeks.
E-recording also streamlines the overall recording process for the county, as they county staff deals with less paper-handling, checks, and mail when customers send in their documents electronically.
Recording fees and payments are processed securely through Simplifile using Automated Clearing House (ACH).
Just over 65 percent of Nebraska’s recording jurisdictions offer Simplifile’s e-recording service, joining more than 1,100 e-recording jurisdictions nationwide.
To get started with e-recording, users need a high-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner.
