Farmington Town Clerk Paula Ray announced the availability of Simplifile’s e-recording service this week, providing a simpler, more efficient recording technology for land document submitters to electronically submit and record land records.

“I am very excited to offer e-recording in the Town of Farmington,” said Ray. “It has been my goal over the past 14 years as town clerk to have my office be up to date with all available technologies.”

Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, is a web-based software where customers including title companies, banks, attorneys, lien filers, and other document submitters can quickly scan, upload and submit land documents to Ray’s office for recording within minutes, avoiding the mail or traveling to the clerk’s office.

“I believe the use of technology makes internal office operations more efficient and allows easier access to the information in my office for the public,” Ray added. “E-Recording will follow this model by streamlining indexing and saving money by not having to return documents in the mail. As a beginner in the e-recording world, Simplifile has made our start up easy, and I am anticipating a good working relationship well into the future.”

The availability of e-recording also means that customers outside of the Town of Farmington or out-of-state who would like to record documents in Farmington through Simplifile will also benefit and save significantly on mailing costs, paper and courier fees.

“Thousands of customers in more than 900 recording jurisdictions nationwide use Simplifile’s service every day because it is the fastest, safest, and most cost-effective way to have time-sensitive documents recorded,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile.

Farmington is the fourth town in Connecticut to start e-recording with Simplifile, following Manchester, Torrington, and Waterbury, which were made available in recent weeks.

Simplifile provides free training and information to help new and interested users start e-recording. Call 800-460-5657 or visit simplifile.com for more information.
