E-recording in Green County, Wis., Now Available Through Simplifile
GREEN COUNTY, Wis. (PRWEB) June 23, 2014 -- Electronic recording in Green County, Wis., is now available through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, providing a faster, more efficient, and paperless recording option for the register of deeds’ office and its customers.
The time and money saved by e-recording are two of the biggest benefits for both the county and its recording customers, including title companies, banks, attorneys, and other organizations that submit documents to the register’s office for recording.
“With e-recording, the document is right in front of us. We enter a few items and accept the document – no mail and no postage,” said Green County Register of Deeds Cindi Meudt. “If there is something that is incomplete, we would reject the document and within minutes it could be corrected and recorded.”
Other benefits of e-recording include fewer rejections, increased document security, and less overall paper waste.
“Our experience with Simplifile has been great. I certainly would like to see 25 percent of the documents e-filed and a larger percentage in the coming years,” Meudt said.
Green County joins 39 other Wisconsin counties, more than half the state’s recording jurisdictions, in making Simplifile’s e-recording service available to customers.
High-speed Internet access, a computer, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to be able to submit documents to the register’s office through Simplifile.
