Michigan Expands E-recording in Berrien and St. Joseph Counties
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (PRWEB) November 20, 2014 -- Two new Michigan counties, Berrien and St. Joseph, have made electronic recording of land documents and records available to customers through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.
With e-recording now available, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys, and other organizations will be able to submit documents to the counties online for faster, more efficient recording.
Instead of driving to the courthouse or mailing documents to the county, customers can quickly scan or upload their documents and submit them using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service and have them reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned from the county in minutes.
“With today’s technology, it just makes sense to offer this electronic service to customers. It’s wonderful to see counties like Berrien and St. Joseph on board and helping their customers save time and money on recording,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile.
E-recording not only cuts costs for customers, but it also saves money for the county by reducing paper waste and mailing expenses.
Other benefits of e-recording include fewer payment errors and increased document security.
With the addition of e-recording in Berrien and St. Joseph, there are now 25 Michigan counties that have implemented Simplifile’s e-recording service, joining more than 1,165 e-recording jurisdictions nationwide.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
