St. Lucie County Begins E-recording with Simplifile

Simplifile announces e-recording in St. Lucie County, Fla.

Electronic recording (e-recording) in St. Lucie County is now available through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, enabling faster, more cost-effective recording of land documents and records.

With Simplifile’s online recording service now available in St. Lucie County, customers including title companies, banks, attorneys, and lien filers will be able to electronically submit documents to the clerk’s office and have them recorded in minutes.

“We’re pleased to offer this service to our customers and provide them with a more convenient, secure online recording option,” said Joseph E. Smith, St. Lucie County Clerk of the Circuit Court. “It’s easy-to-use and helps eliminate paper and mailing expenses. It’s a win-win for the clerk’s office and for our document submitters.”

First International Title, one of the county’s local submitters, was the first to take advantage of the newly available service and successfully e-recorded the first document with St. Lucie County using Simplifile.

“It’s really hard to fathom that this has been done manually for so many years. Ultimately, it’s all about providing ease and comfort to the customer,” said First International Title CEO Jim Moran. “E-recording is quick and easy to do. We offer it across the board at all of our 25 branch offices throughout Florida. Almost all counties in Florida are now accepting e-recordings – it’s quickly becoming an industry standard.”

With Simplifile’s service, customers are also able to track and view the status of their documents that have been submitted to St. Lucie County, giving them the ability to quickly correct and resubmit any rejected documents.

Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, eliminating check-writing expenses and reducing payment errors.
