Johnson County, Neb., Begins E-recording with Simplifile
JOHNSON COUNTY, Neb. (PRWEB) August 30, 2014 -- The Johnson County clerk’s office in Nebraska has launched electronic recording (e-recording) of documents such as deeds and mortgages through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, providing customers with a fast, convenient, online method for document recording.
“E-recording will allow us to register the documents in a more timely manner,” said Johnson County Clerk and Register of Deeds Kathleen Nieveen. “It will take a lot of the manual indexing away, which will allow us more time for other duties. Simplifile has been very good to work with and they understand our needs.”
Through Simplifile’s web-based service, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys, and lien filers will be able to submit documents for recording via the Internet, where they are reviewed, stamped, and recorded by the clerk’s office and returned back to the customer in minutes.
Increased document security and fewer check-writing expenses are also some of the benefits of e-recording, as recording fees and payments can be processed securely through Simplifile via electronic funds transfer.
Johnson County joins 63 other Nebraska e-recording counties that have also implemented Simplifile’s e-recording service and more than 1,125 e-recording counties across the nation.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
