Lincoln County, Wyo., Announces E-recording with Simplifile
LINCOLN COUNTY, Wyo. (PRWEB) August 06, 2014 -- Lincoln County is now the second county in Wyoming to implement electronic recording (e-recording) of land records through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider, enabling faster more efficient document recording.
“Sweetwater County paved the way with this over three years ago, but I had a computer program that didn't have the ability to utilize an e-recording module. Once we changed vendors for recording of documents, I moved forward with e-recording,” said Lincoln County Clerk Jeanne Wagner. “We just started on Aug. 1 and had three e-recordings that day.”
With e-recording now available at the clerk’s office, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys and others can electronically scan, upload, and submit documents for recording through the county’s current vendor, Simplifile.
In minutes, the clerk’s office can review, record, stamp and return the documents back to the submitter through Simplifile.
“The benefit is e-recording is another delivery service in order for documents to be recorded without mailing or personally delivering them to the courthouse,” Wagner added.
Other benefits of e-recording include fewer payment errors, fewer rejected documents, and less overall paper waste.
“This is a big, exciting step for Lincoln County and for the state of Wyoming, adding their second e-recording county,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “We look forward to working with them and providing users with an intuitive, cost-effective, paperless recording method.”
Nationwide, more than 1,100 recording jurisdictions and counties have adopted e-recording with Simplifile.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
