Mobile County, Ala., E-Records First Document through Simplifile
Mobile County, AL (PRWEB) March 06, 2014 -- E-Recording in Mobile County officially commenced this week as the Mobile County Probate Court recorded its first electronic document, a mortgage amendment, submitted through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.
“We’re excited to have been the first to e-record a document with Mobile County and know our customers have been anxious to be able to e-record with the probate office. It provides them with a much more convenient, efficient recording option that saves them a significant amount of time and money,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “Our goal as an e-recording provider is to make the overall process faster, simpler, and more cost-effective for everyone.”
Mobile County is the fourth Alabama recording jurisdiction to make Simplifile’s e-recording service available, joining Elmore, Montgomery, and Shelby counties in Alabama as well as over 1,030 recording jurisdictions nationwide that make up Simplifile’s largest and fastest-growing e-recording network.
Instead of waiting several days or weeks for documents to be stamped, recorded, and returned from the county, customers including title companies, banks, and other organizations that e-record can have their documents recorded in minutes through Simplifile’s online service.
E-Recording also helps to increase document security, reduce the number of rejected documents, and eliminate payment errors and check-writing expenses, as recording fees are processed securely via electronic funds transfer or Automated Clearing House.
