This new electronic delivery system will provide our customers a third alternative that eliminates the paper and scanning process by which [customers] record their documents.
NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Del. (PRWEB) February 10, 2014
Delaware’s largest recording jurisdiction, New Castle County, has announced electronic recording (e-recording) of satisfactions and assignments is now available through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.
Today, the county officially recorded its first electronic document, a satisfaction, submitted by a local bank, Wilmington Savings Fund Society Bank.
“Currently the documents accepted for recording are delivered by walk-in customers and mail. This new electronic delivery system will provide our customers a third alternative that eliminates the paper and scanning process by which they record their documents,” said New Castle County Recorder of Deeds Michael Kozikoski.
E-Recording streamlines the traditional method of submitting, receiving and processing land record documents at the county by enabling users to submit and record everything electronically. Through Simplifile, New Castle County will be able to significantly reduce the amount of time it takes for documents to be recorded.
“The Recorder of Deeds staff is looking forward to providing the electronic process of recording customers’ documents efficiently and effectively,” Kozikowski added. “This new delivery system will eliminate the processing of paper, significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to process the documents and reduce the costs incurred.”
The county’s recording customers including title companies, banks, attorneys, and other document submitters will also benefit from fewer rejected documents, reduced check-writing expenses, and increased document security.
New Castle is Delaware’s second county to adopt e-recording with Simplifile, following Kent County in May 2013.
“We were excited to be the first e-recording service in the state of Delaware with Kent County last year, and we’re equally excited and privileged to work with and expand our e-recording service to customers in New Castle County,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “Our goal is to continue providing all of our customers with an easy-to-use, intuitive service that expedites and simplifies the overall recording process.”
New Castle joins more than 1,025 e-recording jurisdictions nationwide across 42 states that have also implemented Simplifile’s e-recording service for faster, more cost-effective and efficient recording.
