TOWN OF NEW HARTFORD, Conn. (PRWEB) July 24, 2014
The New Hartford Town Clerk’s office announced it is now e-recording and electronically recorded its first document this week through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider.
“It is the policy of the New Hartford Town Clerk’s office to embrace new technology whenever it is affordable and will enhance our ability to serve our customers,” said New Hartford Town Clerk Donna LaPlante. “We have only been accepting e-recording for two weeks and our first e-recording occurred a few days ago with Simplifile. It went very smoothly and the money was in our account the next morning.”
With e-recording available, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys, and others who submit documents to the town clerk’s office for recording, will be able to quickly submit documents online through Simplifile’s secure, web-based service.
According to LaPlante, the clerk’s office is currently accepting all land record documents for e-recording with the exception of surveys, maps and instruments requiring a Connecticut real estate conveyance tax return.
“We’re excited to provide our e-recording service in the Town of New Hartford, and of course, users are thrilled to now have this option available at the clerk’s office,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It’s faster, more convenient, and more cost-effective than submitting documents by mail or courier service.”
Other advantages of e-recording include less overall paper waste, increased document security, fewer rejections and fewer payment errors, as recording fees and payments can be processed securely via Automated Clearing House through Simplifile.
