Skamania County Adopts Simplifile E-recording Service
SKAMANIA COUNTY, Wash. (PRWEB) May 16, 2014 -- Simplifile e-recording is now available for customers who record documents in Skamania County, Wash., enabling them to submit documents to the county via the Internet for faster, more cost-effective recording.
“We started e-recording to accommodate our customers and save them time and money,” said Melissa Anderson, recording manager at the Skamania County auditor’s office. “It saves money on overnight shipping, and it also provides a quicker turnaround time when a document is rejected.”
Companies like banks, title offices, lien filers, and attorneys will be able to go to scan, upload, and submit documents electronically to the county online using Simplifile’s web-based service.
In minutes, the county’s recording office can review, record, stamp, and return the document back to the submitter, eliminating mail delays, postage, envelopes, and paper waste.
According to Anderson, Skamania County is currently accepting all document types for e-recording with the exception of those that require an excise affidavit for processing, which they hope to add in the future.
“We’re excited to welcome Skamania County to our e-recording network and look forward to serving them along with their customers for years to come,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile.
High-speed Internet access, a computer, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to be able to e-record with Simplifile.
Skamania County is Washington’s 19th county to offer Simplifile’s e-recording service and joins more than 1,075 e-recording jurisdictions nationwide.
