Stevens County, Wash., Begins E-recording with Simplifile
STEVENS COUNTY, Wash. (PRWEB) January 06, 2015 -- Stevens County has implemented electronic recording (e-recording) of documents through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service, offering customers a faster and more efficient recording method online.
With e-recording available, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys will have the ability to submit documents such including mortgages, deeds of trust, full reconveyances, notices, lis pendens, and affidavits to Stevens County online, avoiding postage fees and mailing delays.
“We decided to start e-recording to better serve the public, all of the banks, and recording companies,” said Stevens County Recording Coordinator Fastina “Frosty” Clinton. “My customers will receive the recorded document instantly, instead of waiting for two months to get the original back. I’m hoping most of the recording companies will do electronic recording.”
In minutes, customers can scan or upload documents and submit them through Simplifile’s secure, web-based service. The documents are then received, reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned back to the submitter from the county.
“Simplifile has been fantastic. They are very helpful and easy to work with. We are loving this,” Clinton added.
Increased document security and fewer payment errors are also some of the benefits of e-recording, as recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile via Automated Clearing House.
Stevens County is the 20th county in the state of Washington to adopt Simplifile’s e-recording service. Nationwide, more than 1,180 recording jurisdictions e-record with Simplifile.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
