TOWN OF THOMPSON, Conn. (PRWEB) August 13, 2014 -- Simplifile, the nation’s largest electronic recording (e-recording) service provider, is now available in the Town of Thompson, Conn., expediting and automating the recording process for the town clerk’s office and its customers.
“Electronic recording is the future of real estate recording as we have seen throughout the country,” said Thompson Town Clerk Jeffrey Barske. “E-recording simplifies the process for recorders and clerks alike. It cuts down on mailing costs at both ends of the transaction, as well as provides an efficient way to communicate between the two parties if there is a question or a discrepancy, which can then be easily resolved—usually the same day.”
Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers such as title companies, banks, and attorneys can electronically prepare or scan, upload, and submit documents to the town clerk’s office for recording in minutes.
“It also makes the payment process safe and efficient,” Barske added, explaining that e-recording eliminates check creation, handling, and processing.
Payments can be securely submitted and processed electronically through Simplifile via Automated Clearing House (ACH).
According to Barske, the Town of Thompson will accept any document for e-recording that does not require a Connecticut conveyance tax form.
With the addition of e-recording in the Town of Thompson, there are now a total of 21 e-recording jurisdictions in Connecticut. Nationwide, more than 1,120 recording offices make up Simplifile’s e-recording network.
High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
