Wilkinson County, Ga., Starts E-Recording with Simplifile
WILKINSON COUNTY, Ga. (PRWEB) January 22, 2014 -- Wilkinson County is now offering electronic recording (e-recording) of documents through Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider. With Simplifile’s service now available, customers such as title companies, banks, and attorneys can submit documents in electronic form to Wilkinson County from the comfort and convenience of their computers.
“We started e-recording to keep up with the pace of modern technology and to better serve customers,” said Cinda Bright, Wilkinson County Superior Court Clerk. “My office staff has really enjoyed the e-recording process. It’s easy, saves them time, and is more efficient in saving money for our budget as well as for the customers’ budget.”
E-Recording provides a more cost-effective recording option by allowing customers to forego using express mail, courier services, or having to drive to the courthouse to record documents. In minutes, customers can submit their documents by scanning, uploading and sending them to Wilkinson County through Simplifile, where the clerk’s office is able to review, stamp, record and return them back to the submitter the same day.
“It really makes the whole recording process much more efficient and convenient for everyone involved,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile.
Less paper waste and fewer rejected documents are also some of the benefits that come with e-recording.
“So far e-recording has been very user-friendly for my staff and very easy to use,” Bright added.
Wilkinson County is the 10th Georgia county to start e-recording with Simplifile and joins more than 1,000 e-recording jurisdictions who have adopted the service nationwide.
According to Bright, Wilkinson County is currently accepting all document types including deeds, mortgages, satisfactions, and more.
