RE/MAX Realtor Erica West Certified to Help Seniors
Fountain Hills, AZ (PRWEB) February 17, 2016 -- RE/MAX Sun Properties Realtor Erica West completed extensive advanced training to achieve the prestigious Certified Senior Housing Professional (CSHP) designation awarded by the leading trainer for senior real estate and housing professionals, Seniors Real Estate Institute. West and her husband Stan have expanded their 32-year real estate practice to include the specialized concerns and needs of transitioning older adults. West is one of the first to enter the Fountain Hills market with this type of comprehensive service for senior transitions.
CSHPs are held to very high standards of professionalism, service and expertise. The extensive course requires that certified agents provide comprehensive “senior-friendly” transition services and be connected to a full network of qualified professionals who can be called upon to help with complex physical moving.
“I understand the challenges facing today’s seniors,” said West. “Taking that first step and making the decision to downsize can be a very difficult one.”
Emotions get in the way, adds West, and fear of losing independence often sets in. The prospect of sorting through all the stuff one has accumulated over the course of their lifetime or of selling the home in which their children have grown up is very overwhelming to so many seniors that the idea is paralyzing. This is where expertise and experience in dealing with these types of moves comes in.
“Helping clients make moves that will ultimately improve the quality of their lives is what our business is all about,” said West. “We want our senior clients to have as little stress as possible throughout the entire sale of their home and moving process. We educate our clients about lifestyle choices available and once the final decision to move is made, we can handle virtually every facet of the move from preparing their home for sale to overseeing the actual moving, unpacking, and setup of the new home.”
Other services include coordinating home repairs and landscaping service, arranging for thorough house cleanings and estate sales, transferring or establishing new utilities, and helping clients sort through and disperse their belongings. The latter, adds West, is often the most difficult task for homeowners to undertake. “When you’re downsizing from a family home to either a smaller house or a retirement community, the reality is that you can’t take everything with you,” said West. “We understand that we’re not just moving furniture and fixtures, but that we’re also helping them move a lifetime of memories.”
