Author Essam M. Al Mohandis shares the true, gripping story of his criminal trial in a foreign country in his new memoir, “Unreasonable Doubt” (published by Partridge Singapore).

When Saudi Arabian biomedical engineer Mohandis was asked to train in the U.S., he was ecstatic. Though obtaining a visa was difficult, Mohandis’ friends and supervisors worked tirelessly to get him into the U.S., but none of them could have predicted what will happen next.

While working in the U.S., Mohandis was accused of smuggling explosives into the country. Together with his loyal attorney, Miriam Conrad, Mohandis had to face not only the U.S. Department of Justice, but also the Department of Homeland Security, in the fight for his freedom.

Insightful and poignant, “Unreasonable Doubt” presents an honest account of the most remarkable events that shaped Mohandis into the man he is today. He hopes readers will find his book relatable to their own lives.

An excerpt from “Unreasonable Doubt”:

“It was Saturday, February 28, 2004. The clock hands pointed to 9:00 a.m. in Logan International Airport in Boston, Massachusetts. The external temperature was below zero Centigrade. The sun did not rise this morning. The police officer released me from my shackles and handcuffs. I sat waiting on one of the chairs in one of the airport terminals.”
