Essential Federal Credit Union Partners with Cristo Rey Baton Rouge Joining their Corporate Work Study Program
Plaquemine, Louisiana (PRWEB) August 10, 2016 -- Essential Federal Credit Union has partnered with the Corporate Work Study Program at Cristo Rey Baton Rouge Franciscan High School. The Corporate Work Study program makes it possible for low-income students to receive an affordable college-preparatory education. Essential aligns with Cristo Rey in working toward building better communities and unique opportunities for students by producing an overall better workforce of the future.
Cristo Rey hosted a draft day at the Baton Rouge Catholic Life Center on July 29, 2016. Essential staff members were present and eager to learn what students would be assigned to Essential’s team for this upcoming 2016- 2017 school year. Parents, students and corporate partners were present to cheer on the students when their corporate partner’s name was announced.
Students work one day a week in a corporate work environment. Essential will be part of providing a strong educational foundation for students by exposing them to a professional work atmosphere. They will work one on one with Essential employees and learn various aspects of the banking industry.
“We are honored to be a part of the first Cristo Rey’s Work Study Program in Baton Rouge. Giving back is priority for our organization and this is an opportunity for us to impact the youth of our community. Helping young adults develop and learn new skills is a passion of mine, and I am excited that Baton Rouge has welcomed such a great program.” commented Rick Williams, President/CEO of Essential Federal Credit Union.
