Global developer of cloud-based EAM and CMMS software solutions adds major functional and usability enhancements in relentless march to make asset management easier

With Version 7.0, customers who label with QR Codes do not have to purchase specialized barcode readers as most smartphones and tablets now have QR Code scanning capability.

eSSETS (http://www.essets.com), a market leading developer of web-based facilities and asset management software, announced today upgrades to its suite of tools and services engineered to leverage the power and convenience of the Internet. Version 7.0 is now available with more user-friendly features including speed and ease-of-use improvements.

Asset labeling is newly enhanced with 3D technology via eSSETS QR Code labeling feature. As explained by CEO Paul Roberts, “With Version 7.0, customers who label with QR Codes do not have to purchase specialized barcode readers as most smartphones and tablets now have QR Code scanning capability.” He adds, “Once an asset QR Code is scanned, the asset information page within the eSSETS application is automatically launched… another major advantage.” Users can then click on links to operation and maintenance manuals, maintenance history, warranty coverage, cost information and more.

eSSETS “who has what” view is improved with Version 7.0. Want to see what equipment and tools are checked out to staff, contractors or service providers? eSSETS asset tracking software users can now look up a name and quickly see what assets were issued to whom and when, or if the question is about a specific asset, the user can see if it has been checked out. If an employee is leaving the company, a quick lookup shows what assets need to be returned and accounted for.

To support the integration of service providers (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc.) into PM scheduling, Version 7.0 now allows users to automatically send email notifications as a reminder to vendor contractors that a PM operation is due. Roberts notes, “our email feature even provides a map link instructing the contractor on where to go to perform the work, then they can open a predefined checklist on their mobile device with detailed instructions.” New enhancements now allow for text formatting control in the notes section and attachments can be added including audio, video and office docs, in addition to images. The maintenance history of the asset becomes immediately updated when the technician clicks “complete” on the form.
