Analog Telephony Adapter (ATA) Device Provides the Capability to etherFAX-Enable Traditional Fax Machines for Secure Document Delivery

The partnership with MultiTech further expands the reach of the etherFAX network, allowing organizations to cut the PSTN cord without compromising the reliability of their fax operations.

etherFAX, LLC, today announced a partnership with Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. a leading provider of M2M (machine-to-machine) and IoT (Internet of Things) products and services, including modems, routers and gateways. Together the companies are delivering an analog telephony adapter (ATA) that allows traditional, analog fax machines to connect to the etherFAX network, taking advantage of digital communications. MultiTech is manufacturing the device in their US facility.

As organizations transition to IP-based networks, extending fax machines to this infrastructure could be challenging. The etherFAX analog-to-ethernet (A2E) device developed by MultiTech connects existing analog fax machines to the etherFAX network, allowing faxes to be sent and received via the cloud, instead of the PSTN.

The etherFAX A2E device also supports etherFAX Secure Exchange Network (SEN), allowing data-sensitive enterprises to integrate remote fax machines from various locations into their own private fax network. etherFAX SEN ensures reliability of data and document transmissions, without compromising security.

Through its infrastructure as a service (IaaS) model, etherFAX and etherFAX SEN leverage a vast array of virtual ports, making them available to send and receive high volumes of fax transmissions while removing the need for costly telephony infrastructure. The ability to integrate with all leading fax servers, fax-enabled applications, multi-function devices and fax machines allows for fast and easy configuration.
