GRANTS PASS, Ore., Dec. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Guest: Marguerite McDonald, MD, FACS, https://www.ocli.net/providers/marguerite-mcdonald-md-facs/
Dr. Marguerite McDonald grew up in Missouri, the 'show me' state, and like talk radio host Sharon Kleyne, McDonald has spent her working life educating people about evaporative dry eye and other ocular diseases and ailments.
"Without water there is no life," says Kleyne, "and without education and new technology awareness, we run the risk of wasting the precious water resources of earth." Kleyne stresses that everyone needs to drink eight-to-ten glasses of pure fresh water every day to detoxify and lubricate the entire body, including the evaporative dry eyes. "Let's learn together how to combat evaporative dry eye!" Kleyne urges.
From the moment of birth, Kleyne says, Natural process of body water evaporation begins. That is the moment we should be educating ourselves about our health, about living proactively in rhythm with the planet and the solar system. "People need to drink pure water—one full glass at a time—throughout the day and night. If they don't drink enough water, evaporative dry eye can become out of control. Kleyne invented Nature's Tears® EyeMist®, a pure water technology to supplement the always-evaporating tear film of the evaporative dry eye. "We must be more proactive about the water education of our children," Kleyne insists
"The whole issue is about keeping the surface of the eye wet and moist," says Dr. McDonald. McDonald also agrees with Kleyne that children are sitting in front on computers and screens at a far to early age. "People who stare at something long enough without blinking," says McDonald, "will develop evaporative dry eye." McDonald encourages everyone to keep "a little humidifier in the office or workplace".
McDonald should know. A board-certified ophthalmologist and surgeon, she earned her medical degree at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. In 1988 she performed the world's first excimer laser treatment to eliminate or reduce the need for glasses and contact lenses. In 1993 she performed the world's first excimer laser surgeries for farsightedness. Dr. McDonald performed the world's first Summit/Autonomous wavefront-based excimer laser surgeries; these cases were also the first wavefront-based laser surgeries in the Americas. She was the second physician in the United States and the third physician in the world to perform conductive keratoplasty (CK) for farsightedness. McDonald has written and published more than 1,500 articles and been been featured on a segment of "Good Morning America", on CBS Evening News with Katie Couric on July 31, 2007, on CNN in August 2008, and in 2013 was featured as the subject of a CNN Sanjay Gupta special series on medical pioneers.
Kleyne, founder and research director of Bio Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® in Grants Pass, Oregon and the host of the internationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Water Life Science®/Nature's Pharma®, The Power of Water® & Your Health sponsored by Nature's Tears® EyeMist® on VoiceAmerica and produced by Rose Hong, founder and director of Global Dragon TV in Washington, D.C., teaches that drinking pure water, supplementing the eyes with Nature's Tears® EyeMist®, educating ourselves from birth about water vapor evaporation and supplemental water technology, and embracing her Health Olympics lifestyle will finally get evaporative dry eye under control. "The eyes are the mirrors of the world," Kleyne says.
McDonald says that people need to take care of their eyes through their actions. "People need to cultivate an attitude of taking care of the whole body rather than just a part of it. Think and act holistically," says McDonald.
