“I am honored and humbled to be a finalist in the Emerging Leader Awards,” said Ms. Wetmore. “I am inspired every day by teachers who by nature, are creative problem solvers. My goal with EvoText is to continue to build teaching solutions so that teachers spend less time managing the details and process of teaching and spend more time actually interacting with and helping students learn.”
Ms. Wetmore’s experience as a classroom teacher gives her insightful perspective on building technology resources that solve real-world educational problems. One of her creations, Ogment, is used to select, organize, and easily compile internet resources into lessons and that can be aligned to curriculum maps and standards. Districts can develop curriculum using digital resources and information they find on the internet by grabbing only what is needed—without the cluttering ads and extraneous information that tends to be on webpages. Other materials, activities, and multimedia content created by teachers or curriculum teams can also be integrated with the clipped web content. Assessment capabilities are also included in Ogment.

Winners for the Emerging Leader Award will be announced November 15 during the Business Information & Media Summit in Ft. Lauderdale, Flor.
