To write the book, Williamson drew from her nearly thirty years of coaching both managers and executives with companies such as AT&T, Cox Enterprises, Delta, Kaiser Permanente, Intuit, SunTrust Bank, Turner Broadcasting System, UPS and others. Additional input came from a study sponsored by her company on executive conversations. The study surveyed 300 executives and mid-level managers, and Williamson conducted personal interviews with C-suite executives to gain an even deeper perspective.
