Adventure travel specialist, Explore, is expanding its 'Beyond' collection of limited edition adventures to include Cycle the Berlin Wall, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and a journey to the Mongolian Eagle Festival.
OAKLAND, Calif., Dec. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cycle the Berlin Wall
2019 will mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and Explore is offering a pedal-powered trip around West Berlin - tracing a route where the 155km long Wall used to stand in the Cold War period from 1961-1989.
This moderate level cycling trip will average 41km per day and is guided by an Explore leader who grew up in East Germany and can provide unique insights into life behind the wall and the iconic events of 1989. Participants will have the chance to visit a number of sites including Hitler's Bunker, the Bridge of Spies (Glienicke Bridge), Checkpoint Charlie, the Reichstag, East Side Gallery and the Brandenburg Gate.
The 7-day Cycle the Berlin Wall departs 16 September 2019 with prices from US$1770 not including international flights.
Mongolian Eagle Festival and the Siberian Altai
The Mongolian Eagle Festival is an event celebrating the traditional way of life of nomadic hunters. The journey to the festival crosses the Siberian Altai Mountains, following the ancient Northern Silk Road across vast steppe and over high mountain passes, stopping at local villages before crossing the border in to Mongolia.
Travelers will spend two nights with a nomadic family and travel to Olgii in the far west of the country, attending their local festival before continuing to the capital, Ulaan Baatar.
The 15-day Mongolian Eagle Festival and the Siberian Altai departs twice in September 2019 with prices from US$4930 not including international flights.
