Online copywriting company Express Writers is celebrating its third year in business this week. CEO Julia McCoy has reflected on the company’s milestones in a celebratory blog. Having started the company at the age of 19, McCoy discovered a hidden passion in writing copy as a freelancer, prompting her to make the decision to drop out of medical college and start her own company, hiring the best quality staff writers and editors.

Launching in May of 2011, she built the company for less than $170, starting out with no staff and fewer than 20 writers during the first year. “We still have the first writer we ever hired,” said McCoy. “Today we employ more than 60 expert writers and editors.”

The number of team members with Express Writers, as well as the company’s output and revenue have doubled every year since 2011. Today, the team at Express Writers has created more than 10,000 pages and 5,000 projects. “We left all freelance work platforms, like Elance, oDesk, and Freelancer, at the end of 2013, in search of better clientele. That turned out to be a great move for us,” said McCoy. “We have served startups, small businesses, international brands, to companies and individuals of all types.”

Express Writers has celebrated its third year in an industry that has expanded out of proportions with content marketing gaining in value. This week’s unveiling of Panda 4.0 proves that quality content is essential for companies looking for success on Google search results.

In the coming year, Express Writers will launch a custom-developed, revolutionary e-commerce Content Shop to coincide with a company re-brand and re-launch, which includes an entirely redesigned website and new logo. The new logo was just launched this week in celebration of Express Writers' three year anniversary. “Our new logo is a modernized version of our classic Edwardian-script style font,” said McCoy. “It symbolizes our advances toward fitting our clientele needs and being in-trend with the times.” The logo includes a calligraphic pen point to represent the classic, premium, top-quality writing style the team will always preserve.
