FAFCO ® Announces JangHan Engineers, Inc. as its First COOLPV ® Foreign Licensee for the Korean Market
Chico, California (PRWEB) May 09, 2017 -- FAFCO® Inc., the nation’s oldest and largest solar thermal manufacturer founded in 1969, announced its first CoolPV® licensee in Korea. JangHan Engineers Inc., a leading manufacturer of heat exchangers, heat pumps, and thermal energy storage systems, decided to add FAFCO’s CoolPV® solar unique innovation to its portfolio. JangHan believes integrating CoolPV® into its other products will allow it to offer a complete energy savings system in Korea to help pursue Korean energy independence.
CoolPV® is an enhanced solar electric panel that combines solar thermal and solar electric into one panel that uses less valuable roof space than two separate systems. Because CoolPV® cools the solar electric module, it can increase the electrical output of the PV module by up to 20%. CoolPV® generates four times the power of PV alone and can convert 60% of the sun’s energy into usable power compared to typically less than twenty percent for PV alone.
Since South Korea is a fast-growing gigawatt-market for photovoltaics (PV), it’s no surprise that the country is adding new PV solutions to their product mix. In 2016, the country ranked among the world’s top ten countries leading the world in solar energy. Moreover, the Korean government is targeting 17.5GW of cumulative PV capacity by 2035, which continues to drive a growing demand for solar PV solutions across the country.
