FAFCO® & AquaCal® Team Up to Bring New Complete Solar Solution for Pool and Spa Heating to Market
Chico, California (PRWEB) July 25, 2017 -- Two industry experts, FAFCO® solar thermal manufacturer and AquaCal® heat pump manufacturer, have teamed up to bring you the most energy efficient package for PV solar with swimming pool and spa heating!
After years of hard work and a collaboration with the U.S. Navy and the National Renewable Energy Lab, FAFCO® developed the patent pending CoolPV® system. CoolPV® is an enhanced solar electric system that generates electricity and heats water using the same panel on the same roof space. Because the solar electric panel is “cooled”, it generates up to 4 times more electric power than a stand-alone solar electric panel. All you need is a load for the heated water like a water heater or swimming pool.
To give pool and spa combination owners a complete solution to heating without using gas, FAFCO® turned to AquaCal®. AqualCal® heat pumps use electricity only to transfer heat, not create it, making them an extremely energy efficient method of heating. A small portion of the electricity generated by the FAFCO® CoolPV® panels can power the new FAFCO® Spa Companion heat pump, which will transfer the heat from the swimming pool to the spa. Once you are finished with the spa, the heat can be transferred right back into the swimming pool.
