Fall CUE 2013 Conference Workshops Dive to “New Depths”
Walnut Creek, CA (PRWEB) August 28, 2013 -- Fall CUE 2013 Conference attendees will have the chance to dive deeper into innovative educational tools through a host of new workshops. Topics for these fee-based BYOD workshops include “Connecting to Common Core,” “MinecraftEDU,” “Google Workshops for Educators,” and “iPads in Education.” Workshops are three to six hours long, and attendees will gain both knowledge and resources from the in-depth discussions and hands-on learning on devices from laptops to iPhones.
“Our attendees value opportunities to learn through intense, dedicated workshops on crucial and timely classroom strategies,” offered Mike Lawrence, CUE’s Executive Director, “and the leaders from the schools and districts that send our attendees are confident that they will bring these tools and techniques back with them thanks to a guaranteed seat at one of our workshops.”
Twenty workshops are currently being offered, with most expected to sell out before the first name badge is picked up. These workshops are offered in addition to the 100 free speaker presentations on both Friday and Saturday, dozens of vendor tables loaded with the latest in educational tools and technology, and of course two free keynote presentations. Dr. Ramsey Musallum, a high school chemistry teacher and host of CUE’s wildly popular and Webby-nominated internet television show, the Infinite Thinking Machine™(ITM), will deliver the opening keynote. Musallam was recently featured on TED Talks Education, alongside Sir Ken Robinson, Bill Gates and John Legend. Closing Keynote Angela Maiers is a teacher, educator, author and consultant who has spent the past 22 years working diligently to help learners of all ages succeed by recognizing their power as readers, writers, and global communicators.
Registration for the CUE Fall 2013 Conference is underway. The non-profit event will be held October 25-26 at American Canyon High School in Napa Valley. Registration and workshop information is available at http://www.fallcue.org.
