Philadelphia Truck Accident Lawyer Randall Flager Comments on Report about Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) November 26, 2013 -- Philadelphia truck accident attorney Randall Flager of Flager & Associates said today that a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Galloway, NJ, involving a tractor-trailer truck that police say ran a red light serves as a tragic reminder for all drivers to obey traffic signals and remain alert and aware while behind the wheel of their vehicle.
CBS Philly (“1 Dead, 7 Injured In Multi-vehicle Accident On Route 30”) reported on November 4 that the accident occurred after a tractor-trailer truck allegedly failed to obey a red traffic signal and struck four vehicles, killing one and hospitalizing seven.
“While the cause of this tragic accident is currently under investigation, it’s an unfortunate reminder that all drivers need to obey basic traffic laws and abide by the rules of the road. Any failure to do so, especially with larger vehicles such as delivery vans or tractor-trailer trucks, could easily result in a catastrophic accident,” said Flager, who represents victims of negligence and families who lost loved ones in accidents.
According to CBS Philly, law enforcement officials said the tractor-trailer was traveling west on Route 30 and failed to obey a red traffic signal at the intersection of Route 30 and Pomona Road. The truck struck several vehicles while crossing the intersection, including a Chevrolet Cruze, whose driver died in the accident.
The CBS Philly report said that seven people, including the occupants of the Mercedes-Benz, Toyota Tundra and tractor-trailer involved in the accident, were hospitalized with accident-related injuries. Route 30 was shut down to traffic for about five hours after the accident, according to CBS Philly.
“Tragic accidents involving tractor trailers must be thoroughly investigated,” Flager said. “Generally speaking, a trucking company that employs a driver may be liable. These companies must hire trained drivers and perform adequate background checks to make sure they are qualified to drive a big rig. It’s critical to look at any potential contributing factor to determine liability and hold the responsible individual or company accountable.”
Flager added that whether you drive a truck or a small passenger vehicle, it’s important to obey traffic signals and be cautious around intersections.
He said attorneys can help victims of traffic accidents pursue compensation for their losses. A lawyer can help hold the negligent individual or business accountable and send a message that careless driving behavior will not be tolerated.
