Federal Community in Northern California Kicks Off CFC 2019

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Northern California Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is celebrating the 2019 charity drive by inviting federal employees and federal retirees to a Halloween Bash event on Oct. 30 at the San Francisco federal building. Local CFC-eligible charities are invited to help "scare up" contributions of volunteer time and financial support. The CFC is the official workplace giving campaign for military, federal civilian, postal employees as well as federal and military retirees.

Northern California CFC serves more than 124,000 federal employees as well as 88,000 federal/military retirees and is one of 36 CFC zones throughout the country that collectively raise millions of dollars each year for non-profit causes. In 2018, Northern California CFC donors gave an average gift of $577 and pledged more than 1,400 volunteer hours to charities.

"We're looking forward to a fun event with many generous individuals who care deeply about service and giving back to their communities," said Sara Russell, Executive Director of the San Francisco Federal Executive Board (FEB) and member of the Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC) for Northern California CFC. "Last year, our federal colleagues in Northern California raised over $1.9 million for participating charities."

The Halloween Bash and charity fair takes place Oct. 30 from 2 to 3 p.m. in rooms Room B020 and B040 of the San Francisco Federal Building (90 7th Street) where numerous charities will be represented to meet with CFC coordinators and prospective donors. Halloween-themed treats, gourmet cake, door prizes, a costume contest and a recipe exchange are among the many activities planned for the event.
